Over time, damage from sun exposure, lifestyle factors and the natural aging process accumulates and our skin structures give way to permanent wrinkles, lines and folds.

What are Wrinkles?

As we age, our supportive collagen and elastin networks begin to degrade and our fat and muscle tissue shrinks, causing the skin to lose its once youthful, smooth texture. Some wrinkles are dynamic, appearing as we repeatedly contract and tighten our muscles; others are static, permanently etched into our skin. While wrinkles are an inevitability of aging, they can cause us to look tired, tense, and older than we feel.

Symptoms of Wrinkles

Common wrinkles and fine lines include frown lines, crow’s feet, horizontal forehead lines, lines around the mouth, under-eye lines, wrinkles on the chest and neck, and more.

Wrinkles make us look tired, tense, and aged. While it’s impossible to escape the hands of time, it’s possible to effectively treat and manage signs of aging, and even to prevent the onset of new wrinkles, at Skin Science Dermatology. A thorough consultation with Dr. Geeta Yadav, a highly-skilled dermatologist, will determine the treatment best suited to your unique goals.

Wrinkle Treatment Options

Neuromodulators like BOTOX® and Xeomin® are purified proteins that are injected into target areas with a short, fine needle. They work by blocking the nerve signals to certain muscles, preventing them from contracting and thus preventing wrinkles from developing or deepening. Learn More

When gently injected into target areas using a small needle, dermal fillers like Juvéderm® Volite work to boost hydration, plump the skin, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck. Learn More

Fraxel® re:store DUAL targets wrinkles using microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep to initiate collagen remodeling and synthesis. Essentially, Fraxel resurfaces your skin by stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells from the inside out. Learn More

Suitable for almost every skin type at any time of year, microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries to the skin to promote the production of new collagen and elastin, resulting in firmer, smoother skin. Learn More
