Brown Spots

Known by many names—including sun spots, age spots, and liver spots—brown spots are a common aging concern that can result in an uneven complexion and an aged appearance.

What are Brown Spots?

Primarily the result of prolonged sun exposure and genetic predisposition, these unsightly spots occur when the normal production of melanin (the pigment that gives our skin its colour) is disrupted by sun damage. As a result, these irregular spots begin to surface, preventing us from feeling our best.

Symptoms of Brown Spots

Brown spots are typically found on areas exposed to the sun, including the face, neck, chest, back, arms, legs, and hands.

As their name suggests, these spots appear brown or sometimes white, flat, and round. They often vary in size and shape. While they can appear as early as in our twenties, brown spots often continue to progress over time. Luckily, there are a number of effective, non-invasive treatment options available at Skin Science Dermatology.

A thorough consultation with Dr. Geeta Yadav, a highly skilled dermatologist, will determine the brown spot treatment best suited to your unique concerns.
