If you had an appointment that was cancelled or postponed due to our closure, you’re at the top of our list – we will be offering you priority appointments.

New Health & Safety Protocols

In accordance with local health authorities and the latest research, we have established new health and safety protocols to continue to bring you the highest quality of patient care. Read on to find out what to expect when you visit us.

What we are doing:

1. Our clinic is cleaned and sanitized professionally daily.
2. We have a sanitizing station upon entry for everyone who comes into the clinic.
3. Each clinic room is sanitized between patients.
4. Between patients we disinfect pens, clipboards, payment terminals and any objects you may need to touch during your appointment.
5. Our staff is wearing full personal protective equipment.
6. All patients are pre-screened before their in-office appointment and screened again when they arrive in our clinic.

Preparing for your appointment:

1. We will be seeing patients by appointment only. Our goal is to limit the number of people in the clinic at any given time. To accomplish this, please attend your appointment alone or with a single family member only if necessary (i.e. for children or elderly patients).
2. Arrive no more than five minutes before your booked appointment.
3. No outside food or drink is allowed in the clinic.
4. Please limit your belongings to 1 personal item.
5. Please email us in advance with your preferred pharmacy address and phone number so we can send any prescriptions the doctor provides, directly to your pharmacy.
6. Wearing your personal mask or face covering is encouraged but not mandatory. We are only able to provide masks to our staff.

During your appointment:

1. Once you have been escorted to your clinic room, please keep your belongings with you and do not place them on clinic surfaces. We will be asking you to stay in the room until we can safely escort you out of the clinic.
2. Our clinic washroom will no longer be available for patient use.
3. Your appointment will be booked for 10 minutes. Please try to keep the visit to this length as running on time is essential for everyone’s safety.

5 simple ways to take care of your skin

Having cosmetically perfect skin is a bit of the side-effect of the social climate we live in. The goal isn’t to compare yourself to others, or what you feel you need to live up to, it’s about feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin. To have glowing and healthy complexion doesn’t mean that you need to obsess over it, but rather a few changes to your routine can make all the difference in the world. 

Here are our five tested and true tips on how you can have naturally radiant skin. 

1. Use Sunscreen 

Have you ever heard Baz Luhrmann’s, “Wear Sunscreen” song back in 1999? Besides the countless life lessons that he drops throughout, he says: 

“If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.”

It is highly recommended to wear an SPF of at least 30, and be sure to apply sunscreen every two hours, especially if you are sweating or jumping in the pool during the summertime.

2. Avoid harsh weather conditions  

As difficult as it is to suggest avoiding the sun (especially living in Canada), the truth is that sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and an increase in the risk of skin cancer. Make sure you’re wearing protective clothing and seek shade throughout the day to block ultraviolet rays, specifically between 10am-4pm, when the sun is at its strongest. 

However, protecting your skin from the elements isn’t just likened to warmer temperatures; cold climates can also wreak havoc on your skin. Lengthy exposure to the cold and windburn can pull the moisture from your skin making it dry. 

3. Moisturize 

This is a perfect segue into our next point, because during winter, your skin is more prone to drying out, so moisturizing in the morning and evening helps lock the moisture in. Use lukewarm water to wash and gently massage your face before moisturizing. 

4. Please don’t smoke 

We kindly ask this, because not only does smoking make your skin look older, it is a major contributor to wrinkles. Smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin which ultimately decreases blood flow and makes your skin paler. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin that significantly weakens the strength of your skin. 

5. Watch your diet 

I would recommend consuming dark, leafy greens and foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, in addition to drinking plenty of water throughout your day to help keep your skin hydrated. This will help minimize dry and flaky skin. Some research suggests that a diet rich in fish oil or fish oil supplements and low in unhealthy fats and processed or refined carbohydrates might promote younger looking skin.

  • Check your stress: Stress releases cortisol; a hormone which can throw off the other hormones in your body and cause breakouts on your face.

  • Get your eight hours of sleep: We would strongly recommend to get eight hours of sleep and to keep your stress in check. Lack of sleep can contribute to dark circles under your eyes and can lower your complexion’s pH levels.
